But we're having fun!
Mom is in Chicago running a marathon. She and Papa went on a short weekend trip to run a couple of races. Papa is running the half marathon and mom is running the full marathon. If everything goes well mom will get a PR (personal record) and get a better qualifying time for Boston.
Jacob had one of the best games of his life. His control, aggression, and skills were outstanding. If he play like that at the high school team tryouts his luck will change.
Will decided to play his best and run his fastest because it was the last game of the season. It was like a different boy playing out there. He was amazing!
We all played 13 holes of golf (yes, the course has 13 par-3 holes). On this hole I was screaming "Get in the hole!" after jacob hit his tee shot. He stuck it about 6 feet from the hole, almost directly in front of the hole. Great shot!
We then checked into our oceanfront suite. What a view! The weather was perfect. The company was better!
Matt has apparently been practicing throwing frisbees after he goes to bed.
The boys played in the ocean a lot. The water was colder than ideal, but the boys didn't care. Jacob added body surfing to our to-do list. Check.
We decided on Sunday morning we would start the day with a sand castle competition. Everyone wanted to be on Jacob's team. Though a little unfair, it was obviously the right thing to do. The teams were:
- Jacob, Will, and Matt
- Dad
Poor dad :(
I'm not telling you who built what. Please pay no attention to the people in the pictures, as they may persuade you to vote a certain way.
Before Mom left she setup a treasure hunt for the boys. She is amazing. She texted Jacob on Sunday afternoon and told him where to start the hunt. The boys were instructed to look inside, outside, call Buddy, and call Nana and Grandpa before finding the prizes. Jacob got some Chai Tea Latte, Will got a Pokemon shirt, Matt got a Minecraft shirt, and Dad got some Starbucks coffee. What a lucky family we are to have such a wonderful Mom!
On Sunday night we had dinner at Nana and Granpa's house, where Matt tried pizza for the first time and Will acted like a monkey. Jacob was unable to fish because it rained the entire time. He found other things to do like have dessert and play on his Nook.
We had a great weekend. Thank you boys for such a great time!
